Step-by-Step Guide to Setting Up a Custom Tracking Domain
Step 1: Access Aviso Sales Engagement Settings
- Log in to your Aviso account.
- Navigate to Settings>Company Settings.
- Click on Custom Tracking Domain under Company Settings.
Step 2: Configure Your Custom Tracking Domain
- Choose the email account for which you want to configure a custom tracking domain.
- Copy the unique tracking domain value provided by Aviso.
Step 3: Update DNS Settings in Your Domain Provider
- Log in to your domain provider’s control panel (GoDaddy, Cloud flare, Name cheap, etc.).
- Navigate to DNS Management.
- Add a CNAME Record with the following details:
- Host: trk (or any preferred subdomain name)
- Value: Paste the tracking domain value copied from Aviso.
- Click Save and wait for DNS propagation (this may take up to 24 hours).
Step 4: Verify and Activate in Aviso
- Return to Aviso’s Custom Tracking Domain section.
- Click Verify to confirm the setup.
- If verified, save the settings, and your custom tracking domain is now active!
Troubleshooting Common Issues
- Verification Failed? Ensure the CNAME record is correctly set and DNS propagation is complete.
- Tracking Not Working? Check that the tracking domain is properly linked in Aviso.
- Emails Landing in Spam? Ensure SPF, DKIM, and DMARC are correctly set up for your domain.
