Scenario-based sales forecasting involves creating multiple scenarios or potential future situations based on different assumptions to predict sales outcomes. It offers a powerful approach by allowing businesses to anticipate different future scenarios and their potential impacts on sales. Scenario planning can help you identify opportunities and threats, assess risks and uncertainties, and develop contingency plans and strategies.

After you log in to Aviso AI, from the left navigator, click Scenarios to open the Scenarios screen. The Scenarios screen shows all the existing scenarios as follows. You can select a sales hierarchy or segment, if applicable, to view scenarios created with deals based on your selection.

Create a new scenario or edit an existing scenario

You can create as many scenarios as you want to create.

  1. On the Scenarios screen, click + Create New Scenario to create a new scenario.
  2. On the Create New Scenario screen, enter a name, description, and quota (plan value).
  3.  Click Create
    The newly created scenario appears on the Scenario screen.

The newly created scenario, by default, creates a bucket with its own deals. Hence, on the Scenario screen, your newly created scenario shows a single color (Green) on the graph.

Note

A bucket is a collection of deals that you can select and focus on.

 

To edit, duplicate, or delete a scenario or share a scenario with a team member, click the menu icon against the scenario and select the desired option.

View details of a scenario and create buckets

From the Scenarios screen, click on any scenario to open the scenario details. As you can see in the following screenshot of a newly created scenario, it has by default a bucket of all the own deals.

Note

 In a particular scenario, you can add up to 12 buckets.

 
  1. Click Add a not her bucket to add a new bucket to the scenario.

    A dialog box appears and shows your available deals to select from.
  2.  In the Bucket Name field, enter a name of the bucket you are creating.
  3. Select the deals you want to add to the bucket.
  4. You can use filters such as hierarchy, segments, and deal types while choosing the deals.

    Note

     You can add deals from future quarters also.

     
  5. Select a color to use with the bucket.
  6. Click Add Bucket.
    The new bucket is added to your scenario.

    When you have multiple buckets in a scenario, you can drag and drop the buckets to change the sequence of the buckets.

Information

 The scenario health indicates  how close your scenario is to the plan. Every star shown here indicates 20% of 100 %. If your gap to plan is 20%, then you would get four stars; if it is 40%, then you get three stars.
